A 69-year-old male lorry driver passed away following a two-lorry collision along Neythal Road in Pioneer on the afternoon of Oct. 22, 2024.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic, the Singapore Police Force told Mothership.
Accident aftermath
The aftermath of the fatal incident was caught on camera by an onlooker, who subsequently uploaded the photo to Chinese social media site Xiaohongshu.
According to the photo, the accident involved a purple lorry, which appeared to belong to California Laundry, and a grey lorry.
Google Maps shows that the laundry service company is located next to the road where the accident took place.
As a result of the collision, the front part of the purple lorry appeared to be severely damaged, and its windshield was shattered.
At least 12 SCDF officers could be seen gathering around the purple lorry's driver seat.
A traffic police officer and an ambulance were also present at the scene.

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed they were alerted to the incident at around 1:40pm.
SCDF used hydraulic equipment to release the deceased, who was trapped in the driver's seat of a truck.
The other lorry driver, a 45-year-old male, is assisting with police investigations.
Police investigations are ongoing.
