Beloved games shop Tec-Drome in Sim Lim Square closing on Oct. 20, retailing online
Customers can still buy products from the store online.
Tec-Drome, a beloved PC and console games shop in Sim Lim Square, will be closing its physical store on Oct. 20.
But it's not officially game over.
Customers can still buy products from the store via its Facebook and Lazada pages.
Shop thanked customers for support and patronage
In a Facebook post on Oct. 10, the shop on the fifth floor of the IT mall thanked its customers for all the years of support.
It also invited customers to drop by when they have the time before its closure.
Customers reminisce good times
Customers reminisced their times patronising the shop over the years, with many saying Tec-Drome was their go-to shop to visit in Sim Lim Square.
Comments under the post implied that the owner of the shop, Woo, is planning on retiring.
Woo, fondly nicknamed the "Games Uncle" by his customers, was described to be a positive and friendly store owner.
Many customers said they had patronised the shop since they were young and wished the shop all the best for the future.
"Thank you for running the best game shop ever, uncle," said one user.
Many Google reviews praised the shop for keeping prices affordable and sometimes charging cheaper than competing retailers.
Woo would also offer discounts even when customers did not ask for it.
One reviewer highlighted that the owner has been in the business for two decades and is knowledgeable about the products he sells.
