Woman, 34, allegedly steals S$2,850 LV bracelet from Changi Airport T1, departs, gets arrested 10 months later upon returning to S'pore

She was identified but had left Singapore.

The police arrested a 34-year-old woman for her suspected involvement in a case of shop theft in the transit area of Changi Airport.

According to charge sheets, the woman, Huang Huanni, allegedly took a Louis Vuitton "Empreinte Bracelet, Pink Gold and Diamonds" valued at S$2,850 on Nov. 17, 2023 at about 1:50pm at the Terminal 1 departure transit area.

The police were called after the bracelet was discovered missing from the second-floor retail outlet.

Officers from the Airport Police Division managed to establish the identity of the woman, but she left Singapore on a flight after she had purportedly committed the crime.

Returned to Singapore

The woman, who is a Chinese national, returned to Singapore on Sep. 23, 2024, and was arrested by the police.

She was charged in court on Oct. 15 for the offence of theft in the dwelling.

The offence carries a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.

The police said they take a serious view of shop theft cases and offenders will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law.
