If you enjoyed the unusually cooler weather in Singapore this week, prepare yourself for disappointment.

Highs of around 35°

The second half of October is expected to be warmer and less wet compared to the first half of the month, with short-duration showers to be expected over parts of the island in the late morning and afternoon on some days.

The total rainfall for the second half of October is forecast to be below average over most parts of Singapore.

The Meteorological Service of Singapore expects daily maximum temperatures to range between 33°C and 34°C, with highs of 35°C on a few days.

Inter-monsoon conditions

The first half of October saw inter-monsoon conditions prevailing over Singapore, with prevailing winds generally light and of variable direction.

Thundery showers fell over parts of the island in the late morning and afternoon on most days.

There was also a rainfall anomaly centring around the Kent Ridge area, which saw a registered rainfall about 137 per cent above average.
