Veteran actor Rayson Tan to leave Mediacorp
He has been in the entertainment industry for 34 years after placing third in the 1990 Star Search.
After 34 years in the entertainment industry, Singapore actor Rayson Tan announced his departure from Mediacorp to move into freelance acting.
In his Instagram post on Oct. 10, 2024, Tan stated he wishes to pursue a lifestyle and work environment that better aligns with his current mindset.
"I have decided to step out of my comfort zone and embark on a new journey as a freelance actor," he said.
"Acting remains my passion, and I will continue to explore new possibilities while staying true to my original aspirations."
Tan thanked his colleagues at The Celebrity Agency and said he is looking forward to collaborating with various production teams.
Since 1990
Tan has been in the Singapore entertainment industry after placing third in the 1990 Star Search.
Since then, he has worked on numerous television shows and was nominated multiple times for Star Awards.
One of his iconic roles was as Singapore war hero Lim Bo Seng in the 1997 World War II drama series "The Price of Peace".
