Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will make an official visit to the Pacific Island nation of Samoa from Oct. 23 to 26, 2024.
The visit is in conjunction with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in the capital city of Apia, and this will be PM Wong's first such visit as prime minister.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the theme for CHOGM 2024 is “One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth”.
"Leaders will review developments in the Commonwealth and discuss salient global issues, including climate change and building resilient economies," said MFA.
PM Wong will also hold bilateral meetings with other Commonwealth leaders on the sidelines of CHOGM.
The prime minister will lead the Singapore delegation, accompanied by his wife and Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.
In his absence, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat will serve as Acting PM.
