Some 30 photographers were seen taking photos of a family of parrots which had built a nest in a tree in Bukit Merah.
One photographer at the scene on Oct. 12 morning was Sean Chua, who published his photos of the parrots on Facebook group Nature Society Singapore.
According to the photos, the family appeared to comprise two adult birds and at least three chicks.
In one of the photos, an adult parrot could be seen feeding the chicks.
Photographers 'patiently waiting', 'never made noise'
Speaking to Mothership, Chua said the parrots are red-breasted parakeets.
On Oct. 12, he arrived at their nest at around 8am before heading to work.
At that time, there were only around 10 photographers there, he recounted.
However, the crowd grew to around 30 individuals by the time he left, at around 8:30am.
While everyone was eager to catch a glimpse of the parrots, Chua said the photographers "kept a distance" as those using telephoto zoom lenses did not need to move closer to the tree to take photos.
As for those who were using their phones, they had to inch nearer to snap clearer photos.
Nevertheless, all of them were "patiently waiting" and "never made noise" that would disturb the parrots or the residents nearby, added Chua.
Photographers came from various age groups
The scene of the photographers taking photos of the parrot family was also caught on camera by an onlooker who subsequently uploaded the footage to TikTok.
The video showed around 20 photographers at the scene, and they appeared to come from various age groups.
