A father in Malaysia lost his 20-year-old son to a road accident on Oct. 9, which also claimed the lives of two other university students.

The loss hit harder for Jamaludin Hussein, 53, as he had previously also lost his elder son to a road accident seven years ago, according to Bernama.

"I no longer have any sons, both of them have died in accidents," the father of five told Malaysia news media The New Straits Times (NST).

Died on same month using same motorcycle

Jamaludin's son, Khairil Anwar, 20, was one of three Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Dungun students who died in the accident in Kampung Sura Hujung on Oct. 9.

A fourth student was reportedly conveyed to the hospital with severe injuries.

The Star reported that Khairil was riding the same motorcycle that also killed his older brother seven years earlier on Oct. 3, 2017.

"I did not expect what had happened to my eldest to 'repeat' to my youngest child… now, both my sons are gone because of accidents in the same month," Jamaludin told reporters.

“My hands are trembling and I am feeling aimless now."

Accident with SUV

The four students who were believed to have been returning to campus after dinner on their motorcycles were allegedly hit by a sport utility vehicle (SUV) driven by a woman.

The woman, who is believed to be suffering from a mental health illness, has been remanded for four days starting Oct. 10, The Star reported.

Saw son a few days prior

Jamaludin said that he arrived at Dungan at 3:30am after receiving a phone call from a UiTM staff at 9pm the day of the incident.

He and his wife last saw their son on Oct. 4 when they had driven him to university to start his new semester.

"We were here on Oct. 4 and went back to Ampang on Oct. 6. We're really shocked learning this news," he said.

He added that Khairil had just wanted to treat his mother to a meal, buy her gold and take pictures.

Kharil's remains will be brought back to his hometown and buried at the Ukay Perdana Muslim Cemetery in Ampang, Selangor.
