Police investigations are ongoing.
A 45-year-old male motorcyclist passed away after his motorcycle "was believed to have self-skidded" along Seletar Expressway (SLE) towards Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on Oct. 29 at around 5:20pm.
The motorcyclist was conveyed unconscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
He subsequently passed away in the hospital, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) told Mothership.
His pillion rider, a 30-year-old female, was conveyed conscious to the same hospital.
Accident aftermath
The aftermath of the fatal accident was caught on camera by a driver who passed by the scene, reported Shin Min Daily News.
According to footage taken by the driver, surnamed Lin (transliteration), the accident took place on the rightmost lane of SLE.
At least three ambulances and a police car could be seen parked on the side of the expressway.
Lin recounted that while he spotted a motorcycle lying on its side along SLE, he did not see its rider.
He also saw "more than 10 SCDF officers entering a ditch in the middle of the expressway", with paramedics bringing in a stretcher and medical supplies.
Lin surmised that the motorcyclist was thrown off his bike and landed in the ditch.
SPF and SCDF said they were alerted to the accident at around 5:20pm on Oct. 29.
Police investigations are ongoing.
