Monkey curiously sneaks up behind cat in NTU, realised it shouldn't have
Curiosity didn't kill the cat this time.
It was a rather tense showdown, albeit conceivably a seldom-seen sight.
But the episode prompted a million-dollar question— in a fight between a cat and a monkey, who would win?
The younger monkey quickly moved away from the cat
The epic showdown which took place in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and shared by @jomo_foodie on TikTok, shows a cat lying down while two monkeys crept behind him.
The smaller monkey cautiously approached the cat and seemingly sniffed it, only to be confronted by the feline.
Startled, it quickly moved away from the cat and towards the older monkey.
Protecting themselves from the cat
As if attempting to avenge the younger monkey, the older monkey confidently strutted towards the cat.
The older monkey's strut was cut short when the cat moved its front left paw to better face the two primates.
The older monkey jumped on the spot and quickly hugged the younger monkey, protecting themselves from the cat.
Messed with the wrong cat
The cat, it appears, has a reputation in NTU.
In the comment section, the uploader said the cat, who is named Albus, "knows how to fight".
The TikTok account also denied the possibility of the cat being bullied.
Other viewers were amused by the entire kerfuffle.
One commenter wrote that the younger monkey acted first while Albus reacted in response.
The commenter added that the monkeys realised too late that Albus wasn't a feline they should have messed with.
The sentiment was echoed by another commenter, who said that the monkey "messed with the wrong cat".
