S'pore man, 32, allegedly breaks into Sembawang house in wee hours & takes cash & items worth S$40

A 32-year-old man allegedly made an effort to break into a house in the wee hours of the morning on Oct. 7.

He reportedly ended up with S$40 loot.

He also got himself arrested for an offence that would land him in jail if convicted.

According to a police statement on Oct. 11, the man supposedly broke into a residential unit along Sembawang Drive at about 4:30am.

The man allegedly swiped a pouch containing cash and valuables amounting to about S$40.

After conducting investigations and consulting CCTV footage, police managed to identify the man.

He was arrested the very next day.

For his alleged offence of housebreaking to commit theft, the man will be charged in court on Oct. 12.

If guilty, he could face a mandatory imprisonment term of up to 10 years and shall also be liable to a fine.
