Body of man, 25, found floating in waters of Jurong Lake Gardens

The body of a 25-year-old man was found floating in the waters of Jurong Lake Gardens in the morning of Oct. 5.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed with Mothership that they received a call for water rescue assistance at 6 Jurong Lake Link at about 8:35am.

Upon arrival, SCDF rescuers retrieved a body that was floating in the water.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.

Area cordoned off

A Xiaohongshu user shared in a post that she had brought her child to cycle at Jurong Lake Gardens when she saw police cordon off an area.

The user added that she saw a number of police vehicles, along with a tent.

Police do not suspect foul play

Police said in response to 8world's enquiries that the deceased was a 25-year-old man.

Based on preliminary investigations, police do not suspect foul play.

Police investigations are ongoing.
