Ex-Aetos officer points loaded gun at colleague at Woodlands Checkpoint, both, aged 23, get charged
The two men were accused of taking a photo of the checkpoint.
Two Singaporean men, both 23, were charged on Oct. 1 after they allegedly took a photograph of Woodlands Checkpoint, a protected area, without the authority's permission at around 4:24pm on Sep. 28.
At the time, the two men, Muhammad Noorarman Shah Anwar and Muhammad Amali Abdul Halim, were working as on-duty Aetos officers at the checkpoint, reported The Straits Times.
Approximately three minutes later, at around 4:27pm, Noorarman allegedly pointed "a loaded revolver" towards Amali at a booth at the checkpoint.
Noorarman was, therefore, handed another charge of endangering Amali's personal safety.
Noorarman's charge sheets did not reveal what led to his alleged actions.
Penalties if convicted
According to ST, the men's case has been adjourned to Oct. 15.
If convicted of taking photos of a protected area without permission, they could be jailed for up to two years, fined up to S$20,000, or both.
If found guilty of endangering the personal safety of others, Noorarman could be jailed for up to six months, fined up to S$2,500, or both.
Both men terminated: Aetos
In response to Mothership's queries, Aetos said the two officers have since been "terminated from employment".
The company added it has "a zero-tolerance policy" towards any breach of its "stringent protocols concerning firearms and controlled equipment".
"We are extending our fullest cooperation to the authorities in their investigations," the statement read.
