A 55-year-old private-hire driver, who lived alone, was found dead in his Ang Mo Kio flat on Sunday, Oct. 27.
He was last seen looking pale and weak by a neighbour two weeks before his death, it was reported.
Police told Mothership that they were alerted to the case of unnatural death at Block 101 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 on Oct. 27 about 8:15am.
The man was found lying motionless in a residential unit and pronounced dead at scene.
Odour from unit
A resident in the block told Shin Min Daily News that there was an odour emanating from the affected unit on Oct. 27.
A Shin Min reporter observed that at around 11am, three police vehicles were at the scene.
Police had also cordoned off the unit and its surrounding area.
A strong smell could be detected from the void deck, Shin Min reported.
Last seen 2 weeks ago
A neighbour of the deceased told Shin Min that the man had been living alone.
She said he used to live with his parents, but his father had passed away some years ago, and his mother moved out to live with his sister.
The deceased worked as a private-hire driver and would go out almost on a daily basis, she noted.
The neighbour added that the last time she saw the deceased was about two weeks ago.
He looked pale, appeared to be quite weak and told her that he had fallen sick.
"At that point, I told him to quickly see a doctor," she told Shin Min.
