Heavy rains and flooded roads hit Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Oct. 15, 2024, delaying parliament proceedings.

As some MPs were stuck on roads, according to New Straits Timesthe speaker of the Dewan Rakyat (Malaysia's lower house of parliament) Johari Abdul exercised a standing order to postpone the parliament sitting to later that morning.

"Out there, it's raining very heavily.

Some roads have started flooding and many members of parliament are stuck."

The Star reported that according to the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), a flash flood on Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP) highway between Bandar Utama and Taman Tun Dr Ismail had fully subsided.

The flash flood had earlier temporarily closed two lanes of the highway.
