The video was uploaded on TikTok by user tbheng_18 and went viral online.

The video, which is 34 seconds long, shows a man in a printed black t-shirt using the Malaysian flag to wipe down the seat of a scooter, which is covered in soapy water.

The scooter appears to be of Ninebot make, a Chinese company headquartered in Beijing, which recently merged with American company Segway to manufacture "short distance transportation products."
There is another vehicle in front of the scooter, bearing a green license plate with text in Chinese characters.
It appears to be a plate from Fujian province in China.
The video ends with the man using the flag to wipe down the front of his scooter.
While some users laughed it off, others were mad, including this user who warned that the man in the video would face a reckoning if he ever visited Malaysia.

There was initially some confusion, as the TikToker who uploaded the video is a Chinese man himself, and some netizens thought he was the one washing the scooter.
But the TikToker clarified that he is a Malaysian student from Sabah who is currently studying in China.
According to the Rakyat Post, the man said in a follow-up video that he filmed the first video to report the incident to his school authorities.
He also said that he told the man washing the scooter to stop what he was doing.
However, both videos appear to have been taken down from his TikTok account as of time of writing.
