A female passer-by was conveyed to Ng Teng Fong Hospital after a tree along Jurong West Street 42 suddenly fell on Oct. 15 evening.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)confirmed with Mothership they received a call for assistance at around 5:25pm.
The National Parks Board (NParks) said the woman was injured after "she was pushed away from the falling tree by a member of the public and fell".
NParks is "in touch with her to provide assistance".
Blocked road
The aftermath of the incident was caught on camera by an onlooker who subsequently uploaded the footage on a Telegram group.
According to the video, the tree, located at a junction opposite Block 455 Jurong West Street 42, appeared to have fallen due to a split trunk.
As a result, a traffic light nearby was knocked down, and debris was scattered across the ground.
Another photo of the incident showed the fallen parts of the tree had blocked three lanes of Jurong West Street 42.
About 20 onlookers could be seen gathering on the side of the road.
At least two police vehicles and an ambulance were also present at the scene.
NParks statement
In response to Mothership's queries, the National Parks Board confirmed they were alerted to the incident at 5:25pm "following heavy rain in the morning".
The fallen tree was a 3m girth Rain Tree located at Jurong West Avenue 1 and in front of Block 502 Jurong West Street 51.
According to NParks, the tree was cleared by 8:13pm and the board has "carried out precautionary checks on the surrounding trees".
