S'pore Grab staff must go back to office 5 days a week from Dec. 2, 2024
The move aims to align with the company's goals "to do more for its mission".
Employees of technology company Grab will be required to return to office five days per week starting from Dec. 2, 2024.
In response to Mothership's queries, a Grab spokesperson said the move aims to align with the company's goals "to do more for its mission".
The arrangement will also include a one-month adjustment period to help employees ease into the new routine.
Will continue to provide flexibility to employees
Despite the transition back to a five-day work-in-office arrangement, the company will continue to provide flexibility to employees who need it.
The company's flexible work policy, which gives employees the option to arrange remote or flexible work as needed, will still be made available.
The arrangement allows for work-from-home or offsite for short durations or extended periods of time.
The Grab spokesperson said in-person collaboration has always been a big part of Grab's workplace culture: "Since returning to the office three days a week post-Covid-19, we've seen stronger team bonds, better problem-solving, and launched several key product innovations."
The spokesperson added that the company has "even more significant plans" and believes that the arrangement "aligns with our goals to do more for our mission".
One-month adjustment period
However, Grab did not elaborate on the exact arrangements during the one-month adjustment period, apart from its flexible work policy.
The one-month period will also give employees some time to make alternative plans, before the arrangement kicks in on Dec. 2.
