Man & woman filmed arguing over 'staring' on EWL MRT train towards Tanjong Pagar
They argued if the woman was looking at a map or elsewhere.
A man and woman were filmed arguing on the East-West Line MRT train heading from Outram Park station to Tanjong Pagar station.
The video, uploaded on Oct. 5 evening, was watched close to 930,000 times in slightly more than a day by Oct. 7 morning.
Speaking to Mothership, the commuter who witnessed the incident said it occurred at around 4pm on Oct. 5, 2024.
He uploaded the footage to Facebook subsequently.
"I don't know what happened at Outram Park just now," he wrote.
Apparently argued over viewing map in train
The video started with the man and woman already in the midst of their argument.
The man in the maroon top was seen being held back by a woman with him.
He shouted, "What do you all want?"
The woman he shouted at responded, "It's a public place. Can't we look at the map?"
The man replied as the woman who was with him held him back, "Where were your eyes looking?"
The man then smacked the electronic display overhead and said, "Can't you just look at this?"
To this, the woman shouted back, "Is that a map?"
She then pointed to the left of the door, saying, "The map displayed there is clearly for passengers to look at. Can't we look at it?"
The man then said to a man, who appeared to be with the woman, "If it weren't for my daughter, who is out with me today, I would go all out with you."
He continued: "You all are very jialat (problematic). You aren't even a bird's egg."
The pair then continued to argue animatedly in the video, with remarks getting increasingly personal.
The user also told Mothership that the pair did not stop arguing after the clip was cut off.
The man in maroon and the woman in yellow who was with him then alighted at Tanjong Pagar station.
