Orion's a good boy, mostly.

But not always.

On Oct. 9, he went viral on TikTok after he was caught on camera pooping rainbows.

You read that right.

Apparently, Orion had eaten a whole dry bag of Orbeez.

Orbeez, also known as "water beads" or "water babies", are colourful polymer beads that absorb water and turn into squishy, gel-like spheres.

They're used both in gardening, as a way to slowly disperse water into soil, and as sensory toys.

According the the TikTok user, a veterinary technician who goes by Lauren Anne Drooger, the beads hydrated in his gastrointestinal tract.

His owner then took him to a emergency care clinic in Arvada, Colorado, where he "pooped" some of the Orbeez out.

Drooger wrote in the comments section: "Accidents happen and dogs are quick y'all!"

"He needed surgery to remove the rest, but he's on the road to recovery."

Some users were quick to notice that the rainbow poop resembled a certain type of candy.

"Shittles," one person quipped, referencing the colourful candy Skittles.

Another added: "He really did taste the rainbow."

Bills bills bills

Unfortunately, the surgery and the week-long stay at the veterinary hospital culminated in bills of around US$4,000 (S$5,220.40).

Orion's owner, Holly Huffman, responded by launching a fundraiser to help cover the costs of his treatment.

"Many of you may have seen the viral video of him at the vet a few days ago, where he hilariously 'passed' an obscene amount of Orbeez and found his 15 minutes of fame after a night of mischief," she wrote.

"I'm thrilled to share that his surgery went well, and he's now home recovering... If you’re able to help us cover these costs, Orion and I would be incredibly grateful for any support. Thank you so much!"
