Kumachan Onsen has debuted in Singapore with its unique bear-shaped hotpot at Orchard Central.
Originating from Sapporo in Hokkaido, Japan, this hotpot features a frozen bear-shaped broth that melts when hot water is added.
Made from collagen broth, the frozen bear has a jelly-like consistency and is available in three colours: white, red, and brown.
The restaurant serves six hotpot broth flavours:
- Japanese Miso
A rich and savoury classic.
- Soy Milk
Creamy with a touch of sweetness.
- Mabo
A spicy and bold choice for those who like a bit of heat.
- Gochujang
Korean-inspired broth with a deep, tangy flavour.
- Bonito
Light and umami-packed broth, ideal for a delicate balance.
- Collagen Soup
Nourishing and smooth texture.
Each hotpot set comes with an individual hotpot, a side of veggies and a choice of protein.
Upgrade the meal by adding on S$2++ for extra Steamed Chicken Gyoza and Noodles.
There are additional sides like Scallop Corn Butter (S$7.90++) and Chicken Sausage (S$6.90++)
Here's what we tried:

In-built Yakiniku grill
In addition to its hotpot offerings, the restaurant also provides a Yakiniku dining experience.
With an in-built grill next to the hotpot, diners can have a hands-on grilling experience right at their table.
It is a free self-serve concept, allowing diners to choose from a variety of premium cuts, including sirloin steak, premium beef karubi, wagyu beef ribeye, and wagyu beef rump.
