Andy Lau, 63, wraps up 4 days of flawless concerts in S'pore
And he's probably found new fans too.
If you're a fan of Cantopop, you probably know Andy Lau.
Even if you're not a fan of Cantopop, you've probably heard of his name.
As one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Hong Kong — the other three being Jacky Cheung, Leon Lai and Aaron Kwok — one might wonder if this title, which was bestowed on the four superstars in the 1990s, is still befitting of them.
One thing's for sure — Lau is still very much in the game, and deserves the title.
Over the four days he performed in Singapore, some wondered if he would be able to keep up with the gruelling two-and-a-half-hour, 29-song show the 63-year-old had to put on for four consecutive days.
There have also been multiple small mishaps during his concert tour this year — including one which happened just last month, when he tripped over a hole in the stage.
In July, he almost slid off a 4m platform during his Shanghai concert.
Thankfully, there was none of that in Singapore as both Lau and the team working behind the scenes executed four flawless performances.
From the stage to the song choices, and of course, the vocal prowess and stage presence, Lau pulled no punches as he danced and sang the nights away.
If you're wondering if his appeal is limited only to aunties and uncles, the answer is no.
We sent one of our Gen Zs to the concert, and while she initially started off not too excited about having to see the Andy Lau...
... she emerged from the concert feeling a lot more convinced about why everyone loves Lau:
Slay.
