M'sia woman Alice Chang claims she's dating married 'Datuk Seri' & pregnant with child
She made her claim at elder sister Adeline's court hearing.
Alice Chang, the woman who caused an Auntie Anne's outlet in Kuala Lumpur to temporarily close by kissing a pretzel dough, has now claimed that she is pregnant.
However, she did not disclose the identity of the child's father even though she said their relationship is "stable" and he is a "married Datuk Seri who has a wife".
The "Datuk Seri" title is conferred on those who have made a significant contribution to Malaysia.
"As I am his mistress, I hope everyone here can avoid spreading this news out. Thank you," Alice told Malaysian reporters at a Sepang court on Oct. 24 while bowing slightly.
According to Alice, she was there to accompany her elder sister, Adeline Chang, who was charged in court for posting a photo of a minor online in May 2024, reported Oriental Daily Malaysia.
In the photo caption, Adeline also reportedly wrote in Mandarin that the minor was "an illegitimate child", according to New Straits Times.
Adeline was fined RM7,000 (S$2,134) after pleading guilty.
Sisters' side of the story
When asked why her sister had to attend court, Alice said it was due to "false accusations from a private individual", according to Oriental Daily.
Similarly, Adeline also said at a press conference after her hearing that the case "stemmed from a dispute she had with the child's mother".
"While I did a live-streaming session for the mother, she did not pay me my overtime fees or give me a ginseng serum [as agreed]," added Adeline.
Adeline also claimed that she only "clapped back" after the mother "went on live-stream and humiliated her first".
Adeline has 'learnt her lesson'
Besides acknowledging her mistake in posting the child's photo, Adeline said her case also taught her that "it was alright to make a concession and suffer some losses sometimes".
She also thanked her family, presumably Alice, who paid the fine, and her lawyer, who pleaded for a lighter sentence on her behalf.
According to NST, Adeline's lawyer asked the court to hand his client the minimum fine, saying that she "did not have a steady income" and "only earned money from reviewing products online".
Adeline's lawyer also stated that she suffers from "a thyroid condition" and is "currently receiving regular counselling for her psychological treatment".
For her charges, Adeline could have been fined RM50,000 (S$15,170), jailed for up to a year, or both.
