According to his comments, there was no warning of the turbulence, taking "everyone by surprise", and lasted about four to seven minutes.

"There was one huge drop in altitude that sent everything flying," he wrote.

The user also claimed that "a few people" had been sent flying but there appeared to be no injuries.

Another user by the name of Candid-Ebb7103 said the turbulence had left coffee dripping on them from the ceiling and rice in their hair.

He added, "Kudos to the crew for keeping everyone under control, and don’t forget to wear your seatbelt!!"

The flight continued onwards to Singapore, with the flight attendants cleaning up the cabin afterwards with garbage and trolley bags, he said.

Passengers with wet seats were also given tablecloths.
