3 men & 1 woman arrested in Bedok & Sengkang, drugs worth over S$321,000 seized
Three Singaporeans and one Malaysian were arrested.
Drugs estimated to be worth more than S$321,000 were seized in two operations by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) on Oct. 18 to 19, 2024.
Four suspected drug offenders aged between 24 and 36 were arrested.
The drugs seized could feed the addiction of approximately 1310 drug abusers for a week, shared CNB in a press release.
How the two-day operation unfolded
Oct. 18, 2024
CNB officers intercepted a vehicle at the junction of Bedok North Avenue 3 and Bedok North Road on the evening of Oct. 18.
A search of the car found 531g of "Ice", 126g of ketamine, 107g of "Ecstasy", 370 Erimin-5 tablets and 139g of cannabis-laced gummies.
Both suspects, a 36-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, are Singaporeans, and were subsequently arrested.
Oct. 19, 2024
CNB officers arrested a 32-year-old Malaysian man, who was found to have "a small amount" of ketamine on him, at his residential unit at Fernvale Street in Sengkang.
Following the arrest of the Malaysian man, CNB officers arrested a 24-year-old Singaporean man on the ground floor of a residential block near Fernvale Link.
A search of the 24-year-old's unit uncovered 6.2kg of cannabis, 472g of "Ecstasy", 238g of "Ice", 3081 Erimin-5 tablets, six packets of cannabis-laced gummies and 42 vaping devices.
Investigations are currently ongoing.
Penalties
By law, it is illegal to possess, purchase and use vaporisers in Singapore.
In addition, if a person is found guilty of trafficking more than 250g of methamphetamine, or more than 500g of cannabis, he or she may face the mandatory death penalty.
