The Malaysia police are currently searching for a man who jumped across train tracks at a monorail station in Kuala Lumpur (KL) on Sep. 24.

According to a statement shared on Facebook on Sep. 26, Dang Wangi police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said a report was lodged on Sep. 25 about the incident, which occurred at the Bukit Bintang station in the KL city centre.

The man's act was initially caught on video and circulated on Chinese social media Xiaohongshu by user Manchys 大马生活, which authorities detected on Sep. 24 at around 11:35pm.

Climbed up onto platform from train tracks

In the 4-second clip, the unidentified man, clad in a cap, white t-shirt and blue bermuda shorts could be seen standing on a train track between two platforms.

He leapt up onto the opposite platform, using his hands to hoist himself up as several commuters looked on.

He then stood casually on the platform and appeared to be gesturing before the video cut off.

In the caption, Manchys wrote: "I did not expect I would witness this today."

She explained that the man had allegedly "jumped from one platform to another".

"What if he wasn't able to climb up..." she said, adding that he apparently only climbed up when the train was almost arriving.

According to her, the man's act also caused a disruption to the entire monorail line.

Investigations ongoing

Sulizmie confirmed that the video was shared online on the same day of the incident.

The Prasarana auxiliary police then filed a police report at 9:34pm on Sep. 25.

According to Sulizmie, the Prasarana auxiliary police tried to locate the man but to no avail.

The case will be investigated as a case of criminal trespass.

Malaysian police have also urged those with information to contact the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters at (+60) 03-26002222, the KL police hotline at (+60) 03-21159999 or their nearest police station.Top screenshots via Manchys 大马生活/Xiaohongshu
