Lorry driver, 59, sent to hospital after accident with bus in Bukit Panjang

SCDF rescued a person trapped in the driver's seat of a lorry.

A lorry and a bus were involved in an accident at the junction of Bukit Panjang Road and Jelebu Road at 5:35am on Sep. 26.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) told Mothership that a 59-year-old male lorry driver was conveyed conscious to the hospital.

What happened

According to photos submitted by a Mothership reader, the left side of the bus was damaged, with the windshield shattered.

Firefighters and auxiliary police officers were seen around a white lorry, which appeared to be badly damaged.

A man in a white shirt appeared trapped in the driver's seat.

Person rescued from driver's seat of lorry

SCDF confirmed that a person was found trapped in the driver's seat of a lorry.

The person was rescued using hydraulic rescue equipment and conveyed conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

A 59-year-old male lorry driver is assisting with investigations.

Police investigations are ongoing.
