M'sia car fails to cut in front of S'pore car near JB checkpoint, driver throws 'brown liquid'
Splash.
A driver of a Malaysia-registered Toyota tried to cut in front of a Singapore-registered Subaru near Johor Bahru's Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex on Sep. 22.
After failing multiple times as the Subaru driver refused to give way, the Toyota driver resorted to flinging liquid at the other car instead.
The incident took place at around 1pm that day.
A clip of the altercation was shared to the "SG Road Vigilante" Facebook group on Sep. 24.
The incident
Footage taken by another vehicle showed a Singapore-registered Subaru Forester and Malaysia-registered Toyota Alphard driving towards Singapore along a congested road near the JB CIQ.
As they were queuing up almost side-by-side, the Toyota driver appeared to want to filter right in front of the Subaru, but the Subaru driver did not give way.
The two cars continued to jostle with each other for space to be in front, while inching forward.
The Toyota, all this while, was slightly behind the Subaru.
Threw liquid
The Toyota driver then wound down the window for a different approach.
Holding out a container, the driver splashed what appeared to be a brown liquid against the left side of the Subaru.
Subsequently, more liquid from a bottle was flung at the Subaru before the video cut out.
The Toyota's number plate indicated that it was registered in Kuala Lumpur.
Some commenters in the comments section commended the Subaru driver for not giving way to a "queue-cutter".
Others opined that the Toyota driver should have had the courtesy of signalling before filtering right.
