17,051 new Covid-19 cases & 11 deaths in S’pore

Singapore reported 17,051 new Covid-19 cases as of 12pm on Wednesday (Mar. 9).

Here’s a breakdown of the cases:

Locally transmitted cases: 16,858

Imported cases: 193

Deaths: 11

The country has recorded 885,593 Covid-19 cases and 1,110 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

ART cases

New infections detected via ART: 14,695 (14,563 local cases + 132 imported cases)

Weekly infection growth rate: 0.94 (decrease from 0.95 the day before)

A figure below 1 indicates that the number of new weekly Covid-19 cases is falling.

The weekly infection growth rate has dropped below 1 for a week in a row.

Hospitalisations

Patients in hospital: 1,513

Requiring oxygen supplementation: 187

In ICU: 50
