845 new Covid-19 cases, 327 new Omicron infections in S'pore, 1 death

Singapore reported 845 new Covid-19 cases as of noon on Sunday, Jan. 9.

The country has recorded 285,647 Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Imported infections: 587

Locally transmitted: 258 (242 in the community + 16 in migrant worker's dormitory)

Deaths: 1

Death toll from coronavirus complications: 838

Omicron cases

The MOH website is presenting the daily new Covid-19 cases separately from new confirmed Omicron cases.

New Omicron variant infections: 327 (218 imported cases + 109 local cases)

Weekly infection growth rate: 1.80

A figure below 1 indicates that the number of new weekly Covid-19 cases is falling.

Singapore has recorded 278,409 Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.

Hospitalisations

Intensive care unit (ICU) utilisation rate: 46.3 per cent

In ICU required close monitoring: 0

In ICU critically ill: 11

Patients in hospital: 164

Requiring oxygen supplementation: 14
