30 new Covid-19 cases linked to 6 bus interchange clusters in S'pore

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 241 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore on Monday (Sep. 6).

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore to 68,901.

110 unlinked cases

There are 235 new cases of locally transmitted Covid-19 infection.

91 are linked to previous cases and have already been placed on quarantine, while 34 are linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance.

110 cases are currently unlinked.

There are six seniors above the age of 70 who are unvaccinated or partially unvaccinated, and are at risk of serious illness.

In addition, there are six imported cases who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN), or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Four were detected upon arrival in Singapore, while two developed the illness during SHN or isolation.

No new clusters

There are no new clusters today, and four clusters have closed.

There are currently 53 clusters, ranging between three and 1,155 infections.

A total of 30 new cases are linked to six bus interchange clusters.

In total, there are a total of 504 cases from eight bus interchange clusters identified thus far.

The bus interchanges are:

  • Tampines Bus Interchange (1)
  • Boon Lay Bus Interchange (12)
  • Toa Payoh Bus Interchange (9)
  • Clementi Bus Interchange (3)
  • Sengkang Bus Interchange (1)
  • Jurong East Bus Interchange (4)
  • Punggol Bus Interchange (0)
  • Bishan Bus Interchange (0)

Five new cases have been linked to the Changi General Hospital cluster, which now has a total of 51 cases.

Five new cases have also been linked to the Bugis Junction cluster, which now has grown to 283 cases.

Overall increase in community cases

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has increased from 723 cases in the week before to 1,325 cases in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 146 cases in the week before to 573 cases in the past week.

The seven-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 107.4 and 81.9 respectively.

Condition of hospitalised cases

637 cases are currently warded in hospital. There are currently 21 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and six in critical condition in the ICU.

Of those who have fallen very ill, 19 are seniors above 60 years, of whom 12 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

Vaccination update

As of Sep. 5, a total of 8,794,457 doses of Covid-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme (Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and Moderna) have been administered.

This covers 4,533,475 individuals, with 4,378,769 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.

In addition, 170,635 doses of other vaccines recognised in the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) have been administered as of Sep. 5, covering 86,101 individuals.

In total, 81 per cent of Singapore's population has completed their full regimen / received two doses of Covid-19 vaccines, and 83 per cent has received at least one dose.
