Cyclist hospitalised after being squeezed off the road by truck near Changi Village Road

The cyclist was conveyed to Changi General Hospital.

A cyclist was squeezed on the side of a road by a tipper truck on Jul. 31.

A video was uploaded on Roads.sg showing the incident that happened along Telok Paku Road near the junction of Changi Village Road.

A group of cyclist recorded the accident as the victim was cycling close to the road curb and a tipper truck came in from behind, leaving no space for the cyclist to maneuver.

The tipper truck was seen edging closer to the cyclist, causing the cyclist to fall off eventually.

Cyclist conveyed to hospital

Photos posted on SG Road Vigilante Facebook page show the injured cyclist clad in dark blue holding his right arm.

He appeared to be in pain and was surrounded by other cyclists rendering assistance.

A picture of his bicycle was also uploaded showing the tyre slipped out of the rim, and the rim nearly snapped in half.

When contacted by Mothership, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a statement that they were alerted to a road traffic accident near the junction of Telok Paku Rd and Changi Village Rd at 9:35am on Jul. 31.

SCDF also said that they conveyed a person to Changi General Hospital.

Isuzu truck driver speeding in two other occasions

Online users were quick to point out another incident involving the truck of the same car plate number on Jul. 31.

A YouTube video uploaded by SG Road Vigilante showed the same Isuzu truck attempting to overtake another truck along TPE on Jun. 2.

The driver of the said truck was seen to be impatient, and took over another truck in front using the right-most lane.

The truck in front veered slightly to the left, nearly hitting another truck.

The Isuzu truck was believed to have already exceeded the speed limit of 60 km/h.
