SAF regular, 47, found dead at Gombak multi-storey carpark

The Police do not suspect foul play.

A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman was found dead at the rooftop of Gombak Base multi-storey carpark on Aug. 23, 2021.

Pronounced dead on site

According to a MINDEF press release, the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force were activated by the unit.

Officers found the 47-year-old hanging from a rope, and he was pronounced dead on site at 1:39pm by an SAF medical officer.

Based on the preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.

The case has been classified as an unnatural death, and investigations are ongoing.

The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the serviceman's family, and are also assisting them in their time of grief.
