Singapore citizens can now use their original identification documents as proof of identity to redeem the digital SingapoRediscovers Vouchers (SRV).
These documents include:
- NRIC
- National Service identification document
- Singapore passport
34 community centres and residents' committee centres
One can book their experiences at 34 community clubs/centres (CC) and residents' committee (RC) centres across Singapore.
Here's a list of the 34 centres:
This new method of redeeming the SRV comes after the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) had earlier reviewed the redemption process together with the authorised booking partners, after receiving feedback from citizens on how to improve the scheme.
It will complement the existing SingPass verification process and make it easier for citizens who are unable to access their SingPass.
How to redeem
Here's how to redeem the SRV and book the experiences.
Bring your own original identification document to one of the 34 locations and seek assistance from an authorised SRV Ambassador for the redemption.
The identification document will then be scanned using a secure government application. Through its process, a personal voucher code will be generated.
Staff from the authorised booking partner will then use the code to book your preferred SRV-eligible product.
Citizens are encouraged to decide on the product they want and their preferred booking dates/time slots before visiting these counters.
Pop-up booths
STB will also work with the People's Association to organise special pop-up booths at other CCs and RC centres to make it easier for citizens to book activities and tours.
Further details about the location and timing of these pop-up booths will be shared with residents once it is finalised.
More than 1.4 million SRV transactions
As of Aug. 1, 2021, over a million adult Singapore citizens have used their SRV at least once, making over 1.4 million transactions that amounted to over S$168 million in vouchers and cash payments on tourism bookings.
Introduced in Dec. 2020 for Singaporeans to spend on hotel stays, attraction tickets and tours, the scheme has been extended till Dec. 2021.
