The police have arrested a 57-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of theft of undergarments.

Arrested on Aug. 23

The police said that on Aug. 21, they received a report on a case of theft of undergarments outside a residential unit along Mei Ling Street.

Through ground enquiries and the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man.

The man was arrested on Aug. 23.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in other similar cases in the vicinity.

The man will be charged in court today (Aug. 25), with theft under Section 379 of the Penal Code.

If found guilty, he may be jailed for up to three years, fined, or both.
