The Olympic season is drawing to a close and so is the Get Active! Kiddolympics campaign.

The Kiddolympics 2021, which involved almost 50,000 parents, pre-schoolers, and educators from 500 pre-schools, had its finale over ZOOM this morning (August 5).

The sporting event for little tykes took place over the course of three Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, starting from July 5.

Sport Singapore provided resources for kids to learn fundamental movement skills that can be applied to sporting activities, preparing them for the finale.

Through a series of videos, virtual teachers guided kids through various exercises like zig-zag runs, bear crawls, and long-distance jumping.

In the second week, the pre-schoolers learned how to catch a ball, throw it over their heads, dribble, and even kick it.

And in their final week, they were ready to participate in mini sporting events like football, gymnastics, and bowling.

The finale today started with a National Day Observance Ceremony followed by a Virtual Torch Relay Ceremony where the torch was virtually passed from school to school.
