The Yew Tee Vaccination Centre underwent a round of deep cleaning after it was visited by a Covid-19 patient, said Member of Parliament for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC Alex Yam on July 16.

According to Yam's Facebook post, the patient was at Yew Tee Community Club to receive their vaccination. He subsequently added in a comment that the case was identified after their vaccination.

The vaccination centre and the common areas of the community club were deep-cleaned immediately, said Yam.

"It has been assessed that the Vaccination Centre can continue to run and serve our residents. It is safe to continue with your vaccination appointments."

The Straits Times reported that the centre was cleaned on Thursday (July 15) night and hence, its operations were not affected.

Yam added that those who are close contacts of the patient will be contacted by the Ministry of Health's contact-tracing team and receive a notification in their TraceTogether app.

"I encourage those who have not made appointments for your vaccination to consider doing so. It is the safest way to ensure we can beat this virus," he said.
