Middle-aged woman gives foreign workers in S'pore S$50 note each

A woman was seen handing out S$50 notes to foreign workers in Admiralty.

A video of the woman pulling out the notes from a paper packet and passing them to workers seated by the road was put up on July 27.

The incident occurred at 10 Admiralty Road East outside Green Haven, a Buddhist-run halfway house.

The workers seated on the ground calmly received the money.

Although they were masked, some of them appeared wide-eyed and taken aback by this random act of generosity.

The video appeared to have been shot by one of the workers receiving the monetary blessing.

Responses

Responses to the woman's random act of kindness were almost unanimously in praise of her generosity.

However, some commenters mentioned that giving out money without assessing the needs of the recipients was not the most ideal form of charity.

Others urged the woman to help others who are local who might have also fallen onto hard times these Covid-19 pandemic.

No one in the comments section identified the woman or explained why she was even giving out the money.
