Street vendors in Indonesia usually wrap their snacks on brown paper bags or newspaper before selling it to their customers.

But this vendor took it to the next level: wrapping fritters in swab test result.

Not a newspaper

Instagram account Infodepok_id uploaded a photo of the test result with grease stains.

The caption read: "We just bought fritters wrapped in a positive swab result document. We ate the fritters with full enjoyment."

The wrapper seems to be a Covid-19 swab test result dated Feb. 15, 2021.

The patient is a 63-year old woman whose name was redacted.

Online users were shocked, as it suggested that their personal data could be found by anyone.

One comment said: "I am more afraid of the complete data reflected on that document than being positive (of Covid-19)."

Another user pointed out that the "complete address and identification card number" are on the paper.

Not the first time personal documents being used

However, this was not the first time that personal documents were used as wrappers for street snacks.

In May this year, Indonesian media outlet Detik reported that a photocopy of someone's identification card was being used as a wrapper for street snacks.

The news picked up a viral tweet showing a photocopy of an identification card of a man from Bandung, West Java.

The Director-General of population and civil statistics from the Ministry of Home Affairs Indonesia, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, urged people to destroy any form sensitive information if they found it lying around, Detik reported.

He also said to not upload any sensitive data on social media.

"I really urge people to not upload these documents on social media," he added.
