All residents of 639 Rowell Road will have to undergo mandatory Covid-19 testing after 12 cases were found among the block of flats in Little India.

According to a Ministry of Health (MOH) press release on Jul. 15, the cases were detected in two households.

MOH is currently investigating the likely Covid-19 transmission to determine linkages and the source of transmission.

Testing will be conducted at a pavilion located at 636 Veerasamy Road on Jul. 16 from 9am to 4pm.

For those who have tested negative for Covid-19 infection from Jul. 11 onwards, testing will be made optional.

To detect possible asymptomatic cases in the community, MOH will also be conducting voluntary Covid-19 testing for visitors and those who have interacted with residents of 639 Rowell Road between Jun. 30 and Jul. 14, 2021.

Such individuals are encouraged to come forward for testing and may do so at designated regional screening centres from Jul. 16 to 17, 2021 between 9am and 4pm.

Appointments can be made online here.

Residents will need to bring their NRIC for identification purposes when getting tested and are reminded to keep to their appointment time.

They should also monitor their health closely and consult a doctor if they feel unwell.

In the meantime, until they receive their test results, they are advised to minimise social interactions as much as possible.
