United Overseas Bank (UOB) has temporarily closed their Serangoon Central branch, located within NEX, after one of their employees tested positive for Covid-19.

The bank announced in a Facebook post on Friday (July 16) that the branch will be undergoing a thorough deep cleaning and disinfection.

Branch employees who had close contact with the confirmed Covid-19 case were also placed under 14 days of quarantine, and have taken swab tests as a precautionary measure.

In response to a comment by a member of the public, UOB has also revealed that the employee in question was last in office on July 13.

UOB added:

"Even though protective plastic barriers and safe distancing measures such as distance markers have been in place at the branch, we ask customers who visited us over the last two weeks to monitor their health closely and to seek medical care immediately if they have any flu-like symptoms. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
