K-pop singer Kwon Mina had to undergo emergency surgery due to excessive bleeding after she allegedly attempted suicide, South Korean daily JoongAng Ilbo reported.
Found unconscious at home
On July 29, Kwon was found unconscious at her home by a worried friend who wanted to visit after the idol didn't return her calls.
The friend immediately called an ambulance for help.
According to JoongAng Ilbo, Kwon has yet to regain consciousness.
Instagram posts
On July 28 and July 29, Kwon posted several Instagram posts less than a month after she swearing off social media.
One of the posts includes a four-page handwritten letter apologising for her actions and words, as well as for breaking her promise to abstain from social media.
She also posted the malicious messages she received on Instagram, with users sending her death wishes and telling her that she has "ruined" the lives of five people.
Embroiled in controversies since May 2020
The former AOA member has been embroiled in several controversies.
In May 2020, she confessed to being allegedly bullied by former band member Shin Jimin for ten years.
In June 2021, Kwon was accused of stealing someone's boyfriend, also known as Yoo, which she denied.
A month later, she posted an apology statement on Instagram and admitted that she cheated with Yoo.
