1 new Covid-19 cluster in S'pore involving M'sian driver, 24 active clusters in total

Six cases of locally-transmitted Covid-19 infection confirmed on July 5.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 13 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore on Monday (July 5).

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 62,630.

Six new locally-transmitted cases

There are six cases of locally-transmitted Covid-19 infection; two are currently unlinked.

There are seven imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Five were detected upon arrival in Singapore, while two developed the illness during SHN or isolation.

Decrease in community cases

The number of new cases in the community has decreased from 86 cases in the week before, to 28 cases in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased from 14 cases in the week before, to four cases in the past week.

The seven-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 3.4 and 0.6 respectively.

24 active clusters

There are currently 24 active clusters, ranging between three and 93 infections each.

One new case was added to the 105 Henderson Crescent cluster, and two cases were added to the Changi General Hospital cluster. The clusters now have a total of 21 and 20 cases respectively.

One new cluster was announced today, linked to Case 64388. Three cases have been found to be linked to the cluster so far.

Case 64388 is a 36 year-old male Malaysia national who works as a driver at Omni Aquatic Supplies Pte Ltd.

He was confirmed to have Covid-19 on June 22.

As there have been no more cases linked to the MINDSville@Napiri cluster for the past two incubation periods (i.e. 28 days), the cluster has now been closed.

Progress of vaccination programme

As of July 4, MOH have administered a total of 5,780,703 doses of Covid-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme.

This covers 3,608,688 individuals.

2,172,015 individuals have received their second dose and completed the full vaccination regimen.

Condition of hospitalised cases

There are currently 102 cases warded in the hospital, most of whom are well and under observation.

In addition, there are 10 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and three are in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).
