On July 21, MOH announced 179 locally transmitted Covid-19 infections.
130 are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster; the Jurong Fishery Port/Hong Lim Market & Food Centre cluster has become Singapore's biggest at 454 infections.
MOH said that they are investigating cases of Covid-19 infections involving markets and food centres which are likely seeded by fishmongers who visited Jurong Fishery Port, markets and food centres.
Closed to members of the public
MOH detected 22 cases among individuals who worked in or visited Clementi 448 Market & Food Centre, and 12 cases at Whampoa Drive Market.
In order to break the chain of transmission and enable deep cleaning of the premises, Clementi 448 Market & Food Centre (448 Clementi Avenue 3) and Whampoa Drive Market (92 Whampoa Drive) will be closed to all members of the public from Jul. 22 to Aug. 5.
To uncover any community infection cases, free Covid-19 testing will also be extended to members of the public who had visited Clementi 448 Market & Food Centre and Haig Road Market & Food Centre between Jul. 7 and Jul. 21.
Haig Road Market & Food Centre had previously been announced to be closed to all members of the public from Jul. 21 to Aug. 4.
