Woman, 39, charged with murder of man at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3

If convicted, offenders face the death penalty.

A 39-year-old Vietnamese woman in Singapore has been charged with murder after the death of a 51-year-old man in the early hours of Thursday, July 15.

The Straits Times reported that the woman is named Nguyen Ngoc Giau and the victim is named Choy Wang Keung.

An incident allegedly occurred along the fifth storey corridor of Block 562, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

A police press release on July 15 stated that they were alerted to a case of dispute at around 12:55am on July 15.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a man and a woman, both with multiple wounds, outside the residential unit.

The woman and man were both conscious when conveyed to the hospital, where the man subsequently died from his injuries.

The police added that Giau and Choy were known to each other.

According to ST, a neighbour claimed the man was married, got divorced and had remarried.

Giau's case has been adjourned to Aug. 6. Offenders convicted of murder face the death penalty.
