Nurse & food delivery rider among new unlinked Covid-19 cases in S'pore

There are three unlinked cases.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 16 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Monday (June 21).

This brings the total number of cases to 62,430.

There are 13 cases in the community today, of whom 10 are linked to previous cases and three are currently unlinked.

This is an update as two more cases have been linked to previous cases following epidemiological investigations.

Three unlinked cases

Case 64356 is a 33-year-old female Singapore Permanent Resident who works as a nurse at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital but is not involved in direct patient care.

She was last at work on June 17. She developed a sore throat and runny nose on June 18 and sought medical treatment at a General Practitioner (GP) clinic the next day, where she underwent both an antigen rapid test (ART) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

Her ART result was negative for Covid-19. Her PCR test result came back positive for Covid-19 infection on June 20.

Her earlier tests from Rostered Routine Testing (RRT) (the last being on June 7) were negative for Covid-19 infection.

Her serology test result is pending. Case 64356 received her first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on January 13, and the second dose on February 4.

Case 64359 is a 38-year-old female Philippines national who is a foreign domestic worker.

She developed a fever, cough and sore throat on June 18 and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on June 20, where she was administered both an ART and PCR test.

She was immediately isolated when her ART result came back positive. Her PCR test result also came back positive for Covid-19 infection on June 20.

Her serology test result is pending.

Case 64367 is a 29-year-old male Singaporean who works as a delivery rider with Foodpanda.

He developed a fever and headache on June 20, and sought medical treatment at a GP clinic on the same day, where he was administered both an ART and PCR test.

He was immediately isolated when his ART result came back positive for Covid-19.

His PCR test result also came back positive for Covid-19 infection on June 21.

His serology test result is pending.

10 linked cases

There are 10 new cases of locally-transmitted Covid-19 infection that are linked to previous cases or clusters.

  • Five cases are linked to the 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre cluster.
  • Two cases are linked to the 119 Bukit Merah View cluster.
  • Two cases are linked to the Case 64264 cluster. Case 64264 is a 32-year-old female Indonesia national who is a foreign domestic worker. She was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on June 16.
  • One case is linked to Case 64359, a 38-year-old female Philippines national who is a foreign domestic worker.

Here’s an overview of the Covid-19 situation in Singapore:

Three imported cases

There are three imported cases: All are Singaporeans who returned from Indonesia, the UAE and the UK.

They have already been placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN.

28 cases discharged

28 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In all, 62,070 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 134 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.

191 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.

35 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
