There's a new place in town where you can get seafood soup.

Milkfish, a 45-seater casual restaurant that specialises in hawker-style slow cooked seafood soup, opened in basement one of Raffles City.

Signature Soup

Besides a whole prawn, clams, tofu, vegetables, and a minced pork patty made in-house, the Signature Soup ($12.80) features sliced red snapper fish that is chosen for its sweet taste and firm texture.

Milkfish's signature soup is brewed with no MSG and preservatives by Áo Broth, a local collagen soup brand.

The creamy soup with a hint of sweetness is made with the fish’s gelatinous belly fat and fresh clams.

The milkfish lends a natural milkiness and sweetness to the soup without adding any milk so those sensitive to dairy are free to try it too.

Add S$4 to upsize the dish to a Signature Soup set (S$16.80) that includes:

  • a bowl of rice or noodles (options include multigrain rice or brown rice vermicelli at no additional cost),
  • two side dishes (marinated chilled tomatoes and oriental salad), and
  • a glass of tomato plum soda.

If you're feeling bougie that day, consider the Premium Soup Set ($32.80) that boasts more seafood items including a half-lobster, whole abalone, and scallop.

Other menu items

Those who prefer grilled fish over soup would not feel left out at Milkfish either.

The Grilled Fish Set (S$23.80) offers a choice between grilled whole milkfish or salmon fillet with a mini signature soup that includes tofu and vegetables.

Like the Signature Soup set, the Grilled Fish Set also comes with a bowl of rice or noodles, two side dishes, and a glass of tomato plum soda.
