A collision between a Mercedes and a BlueSG car was caught on dashcam footage recently.

Ran red light

The accident occurred at the junction of Bras Basah Road and Queens Street.

According to the dates on the footage, it supposedly took place on June 9.

In the short clip, a pedestrian and a cyclist are making their way across the traffic crossing, when a black Mercedes appears to run the red light.

It narrowly missed the female pedestrian and cyclist, before crashing into a BlueSG car that had the right of way.

The clip ends there, and it is uncertain what happened subsequently.

Pedestrians should keep a lookout while crossing roads

Many in the comments section of the post chided the driver of the Mercedes for their recklessness.

While others ruminated on the possibility of what could have happened if the pedestrian and cyclist did not look up in time.

Many also emphasised the importance of pedestrians being aware of their surroundings while crossing roads, even if the traffic light displays a green man.
