In light of the escalating violence in Israel and Gaza, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has called on all parties to cease attacks against civilian targets and prevent further casualties in a statement on May 12.

Urged all parties to take steps to de-escalate situation

"We strongly urge all sides to take immediate steps to de-escalate the situation and work towards a durable ceasefire," said a spokesperson from MFA.

"All parties have a responsibility to stop the violence and do their utmost to protect the safety and security of civilians on both sides."

The ministry also advised Singaporeans in Israel to stay indoors as much as possible and avoid unnecessary travel, especially in areas where the attacks are occurring.

Singaporeans in Israel should be on high alert and monitor the news closely, and take necessary precautions for their personal safety, the ministry added.

MFA also advised Singaporeans who are already in Israel to e-register with the ministry if they have not already done so.

This will allow the ministry and the Honorary Consulate-General (HCG) in Tel Aviv to contact them and render consular assistance in case of emergencies.

Should Singaporeans require consular assistance, they can contact the HCG in Tel Aviv or the MFA Duty Office at:
