The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 36 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore on May 24, 2021.

The total number of cases in Singapore is now 61,860.

24 of the cases are locally transmitted.

Among the locally transmitted cases, 22 are linked to previous cases. The remaining two cases are unlinked.

There are also 12 imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

Five are returning Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs).

Amongst the new cases today, 16 are asymptomatic, and were detected from our proactive screening and surveillance, while 20 were symptomatic.

New locations as of May 24

MOH regularly updates a list of public places visited by confirmed Covid-19 cases for more than 30 minutes when they were infectious.

More than 30 locations were added into the list on May 24.

Among the new locations include Westgate's Pizza Hut, Seletar Mall, Punggol Plaza, Singapore Polytechnic Food Court 2 and 3 as well as VivoCity.

Westgate's Pizza Hut has around 10 entries on this updated list.

Those who had been identified as close contacts of confirmed cases would already have been notified by MOH.

As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit.

They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history.

Individuals may access the SafeEntry Location Matching Self-Check service via the TraceTogether App, SingPass Mobile, or this website to check whether they were at these locations during the specified timings, based on their own SafeEntry records.

There is no need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, said MOH.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.
